During the war, new forms of stress always appear. Ukrainians have already passed the stage of fright and a strong fear of death. Now many of our compatriots are experiencing chronic war fatigue syndromes and phantom sirens. The job search site Login Casino Work shares how to recognize it and what to do with it.
On the third day of the war, the human nervous system gets tired and cannot function normally due to an excess of negative emotions. This also leads to the lack of normal routine activities. A person can recognize this condition by signs such as heaviness of breathing, muscle pain, and headache, which is not relieved even by pills. The body is exhausted and constantly tired. More often, war fatigue syndrome manifests itself in people who are isolated in their own homes places or are forced to constantly be in bomb shelters and other hideouts. People cannot leave because of the risk of death from bombing and shelling, which means they cannot volunteer or leave.
First of all, breathe deeply and slowly. Take a slow breath, pause and exhale. Imagine that you are inflating a balloon. Exercise should be done within 3 minutes.
Drink water in small sips, this will help activate the swallowing reflex. A person must normalize the work of the vagus nerve. For the exercise to be effective, take a deep breath and exhale between sips. Try to keep water in your mouth. The minimum number of sips is 25. If there is no water, thumb sucking is recommended, especially for small children.
The third effective tool in the fight against chronic fatigue syndrome is “African dances”. Almost every person remembers from films and travel programs how African tribes dance around the fire, bending their knees. Yes, it's unlikely to look pretty, but it doesn't have to be. The purpose of this exercise is to transfer body weight from one leg to another and do this for a minute.
Such exercises are perfect to do before going to bed and immediately after waking up. This is the only way to ensure a sense of peace.
In this state, a person constantly hears the sound of a siren, which is not. For a person who has received psychological trauma from the war, this is a normal reaction of the body to stress. The first thing to do is to return to reality. Chat with people near you, wash your face with cold water, go outside and get some fresh air. You can also count the number of objects around you and touch your body. The second stage is the closing of basic needs: sleep, drink warm tea, hug relatives and friends if they are nearby. And after that, you can proceed to the third stage of the fight against the phantom siren syndrome - to agree with relatives on actions in the event of a real threat. Say aloud the duties of each: who is responsible for shutting off the gas, who closes the windows, who is responsible for pets and things.
Almost the entire country, every resident of Ukraine is now experiencing a strong nervous shock and is trying to adapt to new realities. You can't help anyone if you lose control of your emotions. It is unlikely that then it will be possible to act effectively in the event of a critical situation.
